Techniques of Healthy Cooking Boot Camp (Hyde Park, NY)


Health and wellness—it’s on people’s minds a lot these days, and more and more it’s reflected on their dinner tables too. Now you can learn to create healthful cuisine that tastes every bit as good as the “sinful” stuff; food you can enjoy with all the health benefits and none of the guilt!

In this four-day course, you will discover ways to apply sound nutritional principles to the foods you prepare, examine alternative seasoning and flavoring techniques that allow you to cut the fat content of your dishes, and plan a menu that emphasizes nutrition through a variety of foods.

You will also experience the CIA from a wellness and lifestyle perspective:
  • Have access to our Student Recreation Center, featuring tennis and racquetball courts, a fitness center, and a pool.
  • Hear a lecture on nutrition given by a certified dietitian.
  • Explore the “physiology of taste.”
  • Tour the CIA campus.

As a CIA Techniques of Healthy Cooking Boot Camp participant, you’ll receive two chef’s uniforms, each with a jacket, pants, and a neckerchief. Paper chef’s hats, side towels, and aprons will be provided in class.
