The "Best of" Boot Camp is an intensive two day, hands-on, fantasy culinary vacation!
This program features two full days of culinary learning - highlighting the very best of The Culinary Institute of America. The CIA offers two paths of study: Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry Arts. These two days offer the enthusiast a “taste” of what our degree students experience during their extraordinary education. In addition, guests will enjoy two dinners with wine pairings in the CIA’s renowned restaurants.

Day One: Culinary Fundamentals and Sharpening Your Knife Skills
Become well versed in the fundamentals of cooking. This is the foundation that all chefs must master for their craft. The learning will include hands-on training in knife skills, kitchen terminology, dry heat cooking methods (roasting, grilling and sautéing,) and moist-heat methods (braising, poaching and steaming), giving you an expert overview of these core cooking techniques.
Day Two: Baking and Pastry
Let your artistic talent and passion for baking and pastry arts come together. On this day you will learn the techniques and fundamentals of basic bread baking and how to create simple yet elegant plated desserts.

- A chef’s uniform with CIA embroidered chef’s coat
- Checkered chef’s pants
- Neckerchief and chef’s toque
- A copy of the Professional Chef 8th Edition book
- A copy of their CIA group photo
Paper chef’s hats, side towels, and aprons will be provided in class.
